Welcome, o’ ye wanderer of the tubes. You have come upon the network of my blogs and WordPress sites. There’s not much here, only because most of my time is spread amongst the masses… As well as a thesis on Philip K. Dick, that of which I will delve into later. But first, a little bit about me.
I am a Web Developer, Graphic Designer, and self proclaimed nerd with an interest in computers, literature, films, and photography. My interest in computers started at an early age, As far as I remember it was around the age of seven when my parents brought home the first computer we had, a Pentium 386 processor with a 10MB hard drive and 28KB ram. This computer was cutting edge with a 2X CD-ROM drive and Windows 3.1. That was just the beginning, however it did not fruition into an obsession until the age of twelve when I received my first personal computer. It was an AMD II Processor with 40MB hard drive and 256KB ram, something that came from a promotion with CompuServe if you signed a contract for two-years of their service. After a few months of having this machine and being in total bliss, I decided I wanted to take it apart. I love disassembling things and putting them back together. However, taking the processor from it’s socket was not the best of ideas because I ended up bending one of the pins and thinking I rendered the computer a piece of garbage. That is when my parents had to bring in a ‘professional’ to fix what it was that I had broke. I didn’t know I had bent the pin, but luckily the computer technician was able to fix the problem, giving me a few more years with it (and my own phone line later…)
After that machine died, it gave way to a more powerful Pentium 4 Sony VAIO machine (which I still have, but it barely can run Wondows XP). Throughout the years computers have come and gone with me from the AMD, to the Sony VAIO, and now a computer that I built myself. But for the most part I use my laptop for everyday computing, except for the fact that it is on it’s last legs. The laptop I currently have is an HP Pavilio dv6700CTO (4GB ram, Intel Centrion Duo, nVidia GeForce GO 8400). I am looking to replace it with an new HP Envy 14″ by doing odd jobs here and there, designing graphics for GraphicRiver, and working with WordPress installations. However, it is all on a short hiatus at the moment because I am finishing up my thesis on the works of Philip K. Dick at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.
I invite you to take a look around and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Enjoy!
